Result of Malaysia's 12th.General Election was a shocking one for most Malaysians . I was just hoping for more oppositions in Parliment but I did not expect for Penang ,Kedah ,Perak amd Selangor to fall into the opposition control . I am sure the opposition parties too did not expect to win that big and what more to capture those 4 states . Any way the decision of the electorates has been made and all of us should respect the decision . After all that is democracy is all about . There must be reasons why the people including those in the rural areas are so fed up with the BN government and to have turned against it although they have been known to be staunch supporters of BN . Infact there was a special saying that was commonly used to describe the BN's strength which says ," Even if they put a Monkey to stand as a BN candidate in a rural area , the Monkey would have won " . Obviously today that saying does not apply anymore as seen from the result of the recent General Election . The rural people of today have grown up and they are politically concious of what is going on this country and they could not be taken for granted anymore .
The BN leaders have been too arrogant and overconfident of their win . The people have punished them for their mistakes and they need to reorientate themselves to the new situation in this country in order to win over the confidence of the people . Perhaps God too have punished them for their sins .
What matters most to most of us now is to be able to live peacfully and if possible not to suffer the ever increasing effects of inflation anymore .
